Kalyan Station UTS QR Code – RailOne App Booking Guide

At Kalyan Junction, Mumbai’s Central suburban railway divides towards Kasara and Karjat/Khopoli. Thakurli lies on the Mumbai side, while Shahad and Vithalwadi serve the respective outward branches. This makes choosing the correct destination especially important when using the Kalyan station UTS QR code. UTS QR posters at Indian stations are usually near ticket counters or the concourse. At Mumbai suburban stations the QR stickers are pasted near station entrances and ticket counters. Passengers scan these posters in RailOne, Indian Railways’ official super app. The old standalone UTS app was discontinued on 1 March 2026, with booking services transferred to RailOne.

How to Book a Ticket Using the QR Code at Kalyan Station

  1. Download and sign in: Install the RailOne app on Android or iOS. Log in with your IRCTC username and password, or register with your mobile number (OTP verification). Former UTS users should use the same mobile number so their R-Wallet balance carries over automatically.
  2. Reach Kalyan: Be at or near Kalyan station and open the RailOne app before boarding a suburban or other eligible unreserved service.
  3. Find QR booking: On the home screen tap “Unreserved Tickets” (it may appear under the UTS section) and open the QR scan/booking option.
  4. Scan the station poster: Use the RailOne app to scan the official Kalyan station qr code. Confirm that the originating station displayed is Kalyan Junction.
  5. Choose destination and type: In the RailOne app, select your destination, ticket type, class and passenger count. For example, Shahad and Vithalwadi are on different branches beyond Kalyan.
  6. Pay and display: Pay through an available UPI, netbanking or wallet option. Confirm the issued ticket appears inside the RailOne app; ticket examiners do not accept screenshots.

Practical tip: Complete booking before moving towards Kalyan’s platforms, then check the departure indicator for your train’s destination. A ticket booked with the Kalyan station UTS QR code does not identify the correct boarding platform.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Kalyan Station UTS QR Code

Q. Can I book from home, and does scanning require internet?
For Kalyan’s station QR option, use the official poster at the station rather than a photograph shared online. You need internet to complete booking and payment before travelling.
Q. What if the QR poster at Kalyan will not scan?
Check camera permission, clean your lens and adjust the angle to avoid reflections. If it remains unreadable, buy your ticket at Kalyan’s booking counter before boarding.
Q. Can I book a Kalyan platform ticket through QR?
Yes. RailOne’s QR booking supports platform tickets — after scanning Kalyan’s QR, select “platform ticket” as the ticket type, confirm Kalyan as the station, and pay online. The QR-based platform ticket is saved inside the app.
Q. What happened to my UTS wallet and Kalyan season ticket?
Standalone UTS ended on 1 March 2026; booking now happens in RailOne. R-Wallet balances migrate automatically using the same number. Season tickets and other existing bookings stay linked to your account on that number — verify them inside the app after logging in.
Q. Can I book for someone else, and what identification is required?
For ordinary Kalyan QR journey tickets, do not send screenshots to another traveller: show the ticket live on the booking phone. Valid photo ID, such as Aadhaar/Voter ID, is mandatory for RailOne unreserved tickets from 15 July 2026; carry the matching ID.
